About Me

My name is Allison and I was Korean in one of my past lives. (I am just kidding as I have no idea.)  I am actually a standard American mutt; Italian/Irish and a little bit of everything else. But I sure do have a passion for the Korean culture. But I'll get to that in a bit.

Education

I have my Bachelors in Elementary Education (K-6) , received in 2005 from Florida Gulf Coast University. In 2011 I received my certification from the University of California (San Diego) for a Lactation Educator. (Yes, I specialize in milky boobs!) I also have a semester under my belt from the University of Central Florida when I had played around with the idea of getting my Masters in School Counseling. With all this education, I don't plan on stopping and hope to, someday, start and complete my Masters in Library Science from the Florida State University.

But, you know, that costs money. I have none.

While I am not reading, learning, and growing - I'm helping two little kids to do the same. I'm a full-time-never-a-spare-moment-alone-stay-at-home-mom. My kids drive me crazy and I love them.

Cute, right? Unni is 6 and Jag-eun is 4.

Blogging

While I enter to possibly with a thousand different scholarships (and doing a lot of patiently waiting), I am also currently writing and running various blogs around the interwebs such as:

  • Well-Read Reviews: This blog is my "catch-all" for family related news and reviews. However it is primarily book reviews . (Is my geek showing?)
  • Aster & Lilly: This blog is all about my homeschooling adventures. And Printables. I love printables. I also love my kids, which is why I chose to homeschool them. (But, to each their own! There are wonderful schools everywhere, just not near us.)
  • My Pet Hedgehog: I have a hedgehog. I adore my pet hedgehog for many reasons. I can't be alone in thinking hedgehogs are so absolutely entertaining and adorable, right?  My Pet Hedgehog is dedicated to teaching others about hedgehog care.

Why Heart K-Drama?

I started Heart K-Drama with the intent to learn about the Korean culture (food, fashion, history), teach my friends what I have learned, and (of course) talk about the latest Korean dramas. When my mom was a stay at home Mom, she watched soap operas. Me? I watch Korean dramas. :)

If you have any Korean dramas that you want to recommend, please feel free to contact me: wellreadreviews @ gmail . com.
